So this week has been cold, rainy, and pretty tough, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. We have been getting in contact with old investigators, old recent converts, and some good potentials, but one problem is we have had a recent convert of ours decide to not come and talk to us anymore, an investigator who dropped, and a lot of good potentials just drop. It’s discouraging.
But about Thursday I got a call from our district leader who I handed over an investigator to, and he said that the guy (his name is Sandy) was going to be baptized on Saturday and he wanted me to baptize him! Sandy was a Chinese guy who we thought was not going to want to talk after holiday since he can only focus on his schoolwork, but on New Year’s Day, he came to church and set up an appointment with us, by himself. He had an accident not too long ago before he came to Glasgow where he was left a little emotionally impaired and physically too, but since we have been meeting with him, I have seen his mood improve, he smiles more, and the best part is that I am pretty sure his physical and mental health are improving too. After his baptism, he came up to me and talked about how good he felt. He is a little socially awkward, but that’s fine by me since now all I see is a great member of the church who happened to come to Glasgow and can’t help but smiling when he sees us. So I can’t help it, no matter what weather or trials we have, but to smile at him.
