Miracle week!
We have a baptism planned for this saturday! It’s Su, a malaysian Girl studying here in Queens university! Her road to becoming a member of the church was a bit rough, but she’s finally here! I am sure it will be the best day of her life when she is baptised!
This past week was interesting, Monday we were outside talking to people and we run into a man who was soooooo drunk. It happens a lot, but he kept talking about some crazy things and ended up talking to him for about half an hour. The conversation was hilarious and I honestly wish I had recorded it, but that was crazy. For the day we played sports and got pretty muddy, great day.
Tuesday we had a great day and busy one full of teaching. One guy we are teaching is a guy named Zhou. He’s amazing and when he prayed he asked if he could become a follower of Jesus Christ! The whole lesson was in Mandarin, poor Elder McLeish (he’s doesn’t speak mandarin).
Wednesday was a sad day. We had a lunch appointment with a member because Su wasn’t doing so well, and when she talked to the member, she said that there was something that was holding her back from it that needed to be resolved. Great lunch, and a great little get together with friends at the end of the night, but we were sad because she really needed some help.
Thursday I went with Elder Woodfield on an Exchange and we found and taught some great people. Interesting things happened that day! Miracles really that led us to help resolve some concerns with recent converts. We also got a new Elders Quorum President and we had a meeting that day. Killer meeting and we loved it.
Friday was our All Ireland Conference! We celebrated with some great food, spiritual upliftment, singing some great songs, and some Book of Mormon Story re-enactments!!! We did Samuel the Lamanite when he prophesies about Jesus’ Birth. It was dang funny.
Saturday we had a lot of lessons and the most important was with Su. We got talking to her and at one point in the conversation, without having even brought it up, she just tells us that she is ready for baptism… We almost started cheering in the middle of the lesson we were so happy! We went through the Baptismal interview questions and we were worried when we got to the part about past transgressions. She has had some. She then said that she now has repented of them and wants to move on to the next step! When she prayed at the end she asked God to tell her that she is ready. She then paused for a second and said something like: “No, I am ready.” then closed the prayer. She is scheduled for the 16th and we are super excited!!! Not a grand miracle, but one I appreciated a lot, it has been a bumpy ride for her!
Sunday we had Stake Conference and for Belfast Stake (pretty much the entirety of Northern Ireland) we had Elder Morrera of the 70 come! Not sure which quorum, but we also had President and Sister Donaldson with President and Sister Thompson (the mission presidency). They gave some killer remarks about helping the missionaries!
The week was busy, this week will be too, but I can see all the Lord’s blessings as we work in this wonderful Area!
